Parks

There is a wealth of outdoor recreation right outside Glen Farms: trails and playgrounds.  Within a five mile radius there are four playgrounds offering tons of family fun.  This is not intended to be a comprehensive listing of outdoor activities, rather a reference to get you started out the door.

White

Clay

Creek: swings, jungle gym, slides, natural walking trails through the woods; bathroom facilities are available May through October.  Equipment designed for ages 2 and up. Directions - Route 896 South, left into park complex shortly after Hopkins Road.

Fairfield:  swings, jungle gym, slides, basketball courts, tennis courts, soccer and baseball fields, and set in a neighborhood, there are concrete sidewalks for walking; portable bathroom facilities available.  Equipment designed for ages 2 and up.

Directions – Route 896 South, right onto Cambridge Drive; first left onto Stamford Drive; first right into the parking lot.

Nichols

Park: jungle gym, slides, soccer and baseball fields, and a paved, flat walking path; portable bathroom facilities available.  Equipment designed for ages 2 and up.

Directions – Route 896 North; park is on the left shortly after the stop sign at Flint Hill Road.

Elwood

Crossan

Park: swings, jungle gym, slides, merry-go-round, rocking animals, tennis and basketball courts, baseball fields, paved walking paths over rolling hills, bathroom facilities are available in season. Equipment designed for ages 2 and up.

Directions – Route 896 North, right onto Good Hope Road, left onto Parsons Road, entrance for the park is around the bend and up the hill.

Fairhill Natural Resources Management Area: 5600 acres of preserved land; trails, nature center

Directions – Official entrance: Route 273 West; entrances available at the intersection of Little Egypt Road and Westover Drive.
